BOARD OF ASSESSMENT APPEAL - APPLICATION PACKETS

Aggrieved Taxpayer must submit a written application to meet with the Board of Assessment Appeals for Real Estate, Personal Property, Motor Vehicle and Supplemental Motor Vehicle appeals held annually in March. The applications for Real Estate, Personal Property, Motor Vehicle and Supplemental Motor Vehicle are available IN THE LINKS BELOW  or in the Assessor's Office February 1st.  The completed & signed application is due back in the Assessor's Office by February 20th per state statute. Once the completed application has been received the applicant will be contacted with the date and time of the appointment in March. 

The Board convenes in September solely for Motor Vehicle Appeals. No appointment is necessary for the September Motor Vehicle Appeals.  Appeals are heard on first come first serve basis.  Applications and supporting documentation can be submitted to the Assessor's Office ahead of time or brought to the appeal.  The hearing date is recorded with the Town Clerk for posting on the Town Website and published legal notice in the local newspaper (Fairfield Citizen) in August.
