11/9/2023 A Message from First Selectman Bindelglass

Veteran's Day

Good afternoon,

Tuesday was election day, and as always, many people worked long and hard to make the process run smoothly.  We thank them for their efforts. More than 2800 of our citizens voted.

This post is going out today because Town Hall will be closed on Friday, November 10, in recognition of Veteran’s day. I will be marking Veterans Day on Saturday November 11, at 11 AM, at the Stepney Green in Monroe with American Legion post 160. We want to thank all the Veterans here in town and around our country for their service. For the freedoms which we too often take for granted and for our way of life we must recognize that we have those things because there are those among us willing to serve and make tremendous sacrifices to preserve what we have. Thank you all. The Easton Senior Center will be hosting a Veterans Day breakfast on Monday November 13, at 9 AM.

I have received some questions about the town’s social media policy. All employees, elected officials and members of boards and commissions are bound by the policy which can be found here:

From the Easton Energy and Environment task force: Please join a representative from the Energize ConnecticutSM Heat Pump Support Team on Zoom to learn about these highly efficient, environmentally friendly heating and cooling units. There will be a presentation, followed by time for your questions on Thursday, November 9th from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
