Good Afternoon,

Last week we put up the second welcome to Easton sign at the town line at the base of Sport Hill Road. It is again a beautiful compilation of artwork from numerous Samuel Staples Elementary School students. We were actually asked if we could provide copies of the signs, which we are working on. I want to thank Samantha Olchan for helping to put this together. It is unique among the typical signs that mark the borders of other towns, and which are often sponsored by corporate partners and pale in comparison. It showcases the farming culture of Easton as well as our children. These signs were the brainchild of our planning and zoning commission and demonstrate to our neighbors passing through, the best of the town that we are all so proud of.

Next week will be the last week for Alison Witherbee, our municipal agent and town social worker. She has made numerous contributions to our town, particularly throughout the pandemic and has done wonderful work with all of our citizens from youth to seniors. We will miss her greatly, and thank her for all she has done.

Easton police are warning residents of an increase in car and truck entry and thefts. Officers patrol local roads but with limited resources cannot monitor every road and street at all times. Police advise residents to lock their vehicle doors and remove all valuable items. Most of the vehicles that have been entered were unlocked. However, according to police, vehicle windows have been broken in the past if valuable objects were left in the car.  Residents should report all suspicious activity immediately by calling (203) 268-4111.
