Happy Thanksgiving

Good afternoon,

As Thanksgiving approaches, we realize how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful town surrounded by wonderful neighbors and so much natural beauty. I would ask that we all give thanks for what we have, but that we also remember that the holidays are not always easy for everyone. We have great resources in town, not only neighbor to neighbor, but we have an amazing Senior Center and Town Municipal Agent, Daniel Simonelli, who can help support those who are struggling, whether from food insecurity or any kind of emotional strain. If you know folks who might be struggling, encourage them to take advantage of our resources.

I would like to thank the Commission for the Aging for preparing and delivering Thanksgiving meals to our Easton homebound residents this past weekend.

There are often discussions about what to do in Easton. That is why I want to draw your attention to what is becoming a thriving underground music scene in town. On November 12, there was a “barn crawl” involving three local barns where there were musical performances spanning the afternoon and evening, by local musicians.  The level of talent among our citizens was fully on display and quite remarkable. Many folks attended, and we look forward to future musical events, which we can publicize.

On Monday there was a bad accident on Route 59 by Sherwood Drive involving two cars and a deer. Unfortunately, there was a serious injury involved and the road was closed for some time. All three services, fire, police and EMS were present and handled the situation extremely well. This is yet another reminder of the excellent work that our emergency service workers do every day.

Join the Easton Police Department Stuff-a-Cruiser to benefit Toys for Tots on Sunday, December 3rd from 8:00am-12:00pm at the Library parking lot.

The Easton Senior Center is holding their annual Gift and Holiday Boutique sale. Lots of items for everyone! Stop in and do your holiday shopping locally and support our seniors every day from 9:00am- 3:00pm through December 20th.  They will accept cash and checks.

Enjoy your time with friends and family.
