1/5/2024 A Message from First Selectman Bindelglass

Winter Morning

Good afternoon,

We are expecting the first big snow of the year this weekend. Please prepare ahead with food, fuel, batteries etc.   As of now, it does not seem that there will be significant wind so hopefully power will not be an issue. Please check the link for some tips on coping with storm issues https://www.eastonct.gov/emergency-info. Also, please look out for each other and check on neighbors that may need your help.

Our DPW crews always do a great job clearing our roads, however you can help by keeping off the roads if possible, and certainly, staying out of their way. There will be a parking ban in effect per town ordinance for snow removal. Vehicles must be removed from public roadways during and after the snow storms. Everyone's safety is our biggest concern.

Last night's board of selectmen meeting was largely about the reappointment of board and commission members whose terms traditionally finish in January. Most of our work for the new year was completed.

This week the EMS planning and building committee interviewed finalists for architect for the renovation of the building. They have some excellent candidates and hope to make a final selection shortly.

The Easton Senior Center’s Holiday Boutique will be extended through January 19th offering 50% off all items. The boutique features quality items for all — children’s toys, pets, housewares, hostess gifts, lamps, spa products, jewelry, designer bags, decor, and more. Cash and checks are accepted. All proceeds benefit the Easton Senior Center.

Have a good weekend and stay safe.

Dave
