CONTINUED AFFECT ON MOTOR VEHICLE VALUES FOR 2022

Some vehicle assessments have increased again since last year.

As we are experiencing the aftermath of COVID in every factor of our lives; there continued to be a shortage of new cars available, resulting in a supply and demand issue for used motor vehicles prolonging the rise in sale prices in 2022.

Majority of Motor Vehicle Assessments are 70% of Clean Retail values from J.D. POWER Pricing Guides which are developed from sources of wholesale and retail transaction data.

To appeal your Motor Vehicle Assessment the Board of Assessment Appeals will be holding hearings in September for Motor Vehicles only.

Please contact the Assessor’s Office late August for instructions how to appeal and hearing information.  The Appeal notice will be posted on the Town Website when the meeting date(s) are scheduled.

For more information please visit the Board of Assessment Appeals page on the Town Website. To receive updates and email notifications Please “Subscribe to News” at www.eastonct.gov.

Thank you.
