The Registrars of Voters, one Democrat and one Republican, are elected state officials whose charge is to guarantee and preserve the voting rights of the citizens of their town in a fair and equitable manner. Upon their election, each Registrar appoints a Deputy who assists their respective Registrar in the performance of his or her duties.

The term is 2 years elected.

Are You Interested in Becoming a Moderator of Elections?

With the focus of attention starting to turn more and more to the national election scene we, the Easton Registrars of Voters, would like to remind Easton electors that the electoral process needs your support every year.  In this case the support we refer to is not just exercising your right to vote in every election, but also your consideration of becoming an election moderator to assist in running the elections at the polls.

We attempt to alternate moderators from all parties from election to election, but lately, that has become more and more difficult.  Currently, we have openings for more qualified and trained moderators from both major parties and unaffiliated voters as well.  Becoming a moderator involves taking a State sanctioned course that runs about three and a half hours at a nearby site, every other year.  The moderator’s training course is not only interesting and will be paid for by the town, but will enable you to become a part of, and oversee, the paid team of dedicated poll workers during elections.

The democratic system depends on the involvement of citizens like yourselves, and that means that your service as a moderator is invaluable to the electoral process. If you have an interest in taking the course and/or working at the polls (all paid positions) at Staples School during any elections, please contact the Registrar of Voters.

We appreciate your consideration of this service to our community.
