A Message from First Selectman Bindelglass... Update for 3/27/2020

Good afternoon,

Good news heading into this weekend, I have little to report.

According to the Department of Public Health, two people in Easton have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus. Tragically, one of the confirmed has passed away. Our thoughts are with this Easton family.

I know there is a natural temptation to speculate about who has or has not tested positive. Some argue that knowing who has the virus is important for each person’s own safety. I strongly disagree and in fact what we should all be doing is treating everyone we come into contact with as if they were positive. That is the level of caution we should all be practicing.

Thursday, I filmed a video message now posted on the Easton Courier website, www.eastoncourier.news. The video referenced some town wide activities including the Cowbell Challenge to begin Friday night March 27, 2020 at 6:30 p.m., and Easton Rocks. See flyers attached.

I also discussed resources for those having difficulty coping with the current crisis situation and sites for donating masks, gloves and other equipment for local hospitals and first responders. Thank you to our friends at the Easton Courier for helping to promote these and keeping us informed.

I want to wish you all a nice weekend. See you outside Friday night with pots and pans!

Stay safe and be well.

Dave Bindelglass
